These colorful decorations, Kusudama and Fukinagashi, are displayed to celebrate the Japanese star festival Tanabata.
Jirachi is a Pokémon that is related to Tanabata, so I took its GOsnapshot with Kusudama and Fukinagashi.
渋谷センター街が七夕飾りでいっぱいです！
仙台で職人のかたが手作りされたくす玉と吹き流しだそうです。*1
通りすがりの男の子たちが「七夕？ 季節外れじゃね？」と言っていましたが、仙台では七夕を旧暦、1か月遅れの8月にお祝いしているそうですので、それに合わせているのでしょう。

そういえば、今まで英語で in Twitter や in Instagram と書いていたのですが、 on Twitter や on Instagram と書くほうがより自然なようです。英語でInstagramのヘルプページを見ていて気が付きました。前置詞は難しいです😇 英語は難しいです😇
ということで、開催中 on Instagramの#pkmncomplementweekに応募いたしました。

Your submission must include something that *complements* your selected Pokémon in some way, be it a cosplay （略）, a backdrop with similar colors/designs of said Pokémon, a real-life counterpart or anything that at least *complements* the Pokémon you are using.
ポケモンをcomplement、補足するものを含むこと、というルールです。
七夕飾りはまさにジラーチを補なっているかなということで。
とはいえ、海外のかたに通じるかが非常に不安なのですが……。
